Start of the\u00a0\u00a0trek\u00a0\u00a0along the dirt road that leads from\u00a0\u00a0Piano Provenzana\u00a0\u00a0to the summit craters of the volcano, after the first kilometer you cross the eruptive fracture of the eruption of\u00a0\u00a0October 27, 2002\u00a0on the path of “Monte Nero – Timpa Rossa”.<\/p>\n

The route allows you to visit and study the many volcanic morphologies related to the eruptions that occurred on the northern side of Etna, in particular the flank eruptions of\u00a010 September 1911\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a017 June 1923\u00a0\u00a0which threatened the town of Linguaglossa.<\/p>\n

After visiting the particular volcanic morpho-structures called\u00a0\u00a0Hornitos from the\u00a0\u00a0Spanish\u00a0\u00a0\u201cLittle Oven\u201d\u00a0, we will go up along the pyroclastic cones of the 2002 eruption until reaching the maximum altitude of 2100 m on the edge of the craters, and then descend inside a sandy channel to the starting point.<\/p>\n

We advise against<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0the use of\u00a0\u00a0contact lenses<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0because of the gases released by the volcano and the ash which, if blown, could easily cause discomfort to the ocular surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pregnant women who are beyond the third month of\u00a0\u00a0pregnancy<\/strong>\u00a0are not permitted to engage in any type of hiking activity.<\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure the success of the excursion and the correct performance of the activity, it is good practice to know your\u00a0\u00a0health<\/strong>\u00a0conditions perfectly \u00a0and to inform the Guide if necessary, all this to reduce the onset of any problems and avoid running\u00a0\u00a0risks<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n
