Planned climb with off-road vehicles along the panoramic road on the northern side of the volcano, up to an altitude of 2825 m. From this point, the\u00a0\u00a05km<\/strong>\u00a0climb on foot will begin \u00a0on a path, surrounded by bombs and volcanic scoria for a total difference in altitude of\u00a0\u00a0490 meters<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0up to the edge of the Central Crater of Etna, at an altitude of 3315 m. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once at the summit, we will stop to admire the grandeur, the uniqueness of the volcanic environment and the processes connected to it, combined with the spectacle of the panorama from the\u00a0\u00a0roof of Sicily<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0(visibility varies depending on atmospheric conditions and volcanic gas emissions).<\/span><\/p>\n

WARNING:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0The long descent could be harder than the climb, as it involves a 1500 metre negative difference in altitude, from an altitude of 3300 metres to an altitude of 1800 metres. It is strongly discouraged for those who suffer from joint problems, especially knee problems<\/strong>\u00a0!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The downhill route will be on soft scoria and volcanic ash passing from\u00a0\u00a0Piano delle Concazze 2750 mt.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0at the base of the\u00a0Volcanological Observatory<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0and then continue inside one of the sandy gullies that make up the north-east side of the volcano, surrounded by endemic plants and seasonal streams before reaching the downhill track and the beech forest just above Piano Provenzana, the arrival point of our excursion. <\/span><\/p>\n

The excursion includes a total of\u00a0\u00a012 kilometers<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0of walking on foot (there and back) for 5\/6 hours, absolutely suitable for those who are used to walking regularly in the mountains, not recommended for those with problems of vertigo, physical health or fatigue.<\/span><\/p>\n

The excursion requires a\u00a0good preparation\u00a0on a physical level. Because of it results to be a high height path, it would be easy to experience symptoms of\u00a0fatigue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is required also to\u00a0be careful, since it is volcanic soil, often inconsistent and unstable.<\/strong><\/p>\n
