The excursion starts from the Esagonal bar at 1,900 meters above sea level.<\/span><\/p>\n

After paying and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>purchasing the return tickets together with your guide,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>you will take the cable car up to an altitude of 2,500 meters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here your uphill trek will begin\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>for 500 meters of positive altitude difference,\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0among recent snow-covered lava flows, large craters, lava flow channels,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>hot fumaroles with high-temperature gas emissions\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>, up to an altitude of\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>3000 meters –\u00a0MAXIMUM HEIGHT REACHABLE AT THE MOMENT DEPENDING ON VOLCANIC RISK LEVELS\u00a0–\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>at the base of the South-East Crater, the most active at the moment on Etna.<\/span><\/p>\n

The descent from 3000 m is planned on foot to the cable car, for the final return to the starting point.<\/span><\/p>\n

This itinerary, in relation to the type and altitude\u00a0,<\/strong>\u00a0is suitable for people in good\u00a0<\/span>physical health, who do not suffer from particular pathologies (\u00a0cardiovascular<\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0\u00a0respiratory<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0or\u00a0\u00a0hypertension<\/strong>\u00a0).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We do not recommend<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0the use of\u00a0\u00a0contact lenses<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0because of the gases released by the volcano and the ash which, if blown, could easily cause problems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pregnant women who are beyond the third month of\u00a0\u00a0pregnancy<\/strong>\u00a0are not permitted to engage in any type of hiking activity.<\/span><\/p>\n
