Trekking to the Summit Craters
After taking the cable car up to 2500m, we will begin the 5 km trek towards the Summit Craters. The path crosses recent lava fields to reach the summit crater terrace at 3250m, where we will admire the majesty of the Central Crater.
The route continues along the crater rim before starting the fun descent on a path of ash and volcanic scoria, for a total of 11.5 km, returning to the cable car departure point at 2500m.

Detailed Schedule
- 8:30 AM: Meeting at the Etna cable car parking (1900m).
- 9:00 AM: Briefing and purchase of cable car tickets.
- ~9:30 AM: Arrival by cable car at 2500m and start of the trek.
- ~12:30 PM: Arrival at the Summit Craters (3250m).
- ~1:30 PM: Start of the descent on foot (6.5km).
- ~3:00 PM: Arrival at the cable car (2500m) and return to Rifugio Sapienza.

- Physical Effort: Not recommended for those who are not used to physical activity. Fair physical preparation is required.

- Children: Suitable for children over 12 years old who are used to walking.
- No Contact Lenses: Ash and gases can cause irritation.
- Pregnancy: Not permitted for pregnant women past their third month.
