Snowshoeing on Etna
Once again this year, thanks to the collaboration with the instructors of the Linguaglossa Ski School, the Volcanological Guides organize trekking and snowshoeing scheduled every day for the months of December, January, February and March.
Among all the activities it is certainly easy to approach even for the little ones who will be able to enjoy a unique experience of its kind, in close contact with nature and the volcano.
The itinerary includes a visit to the Craters of 2002 eruption, passing through the structures destroyed by the lava flows, through the woods of the north side of Etna, up to the top of the Craters. All this for a total distance of 5 km (round trip) and a total of 3h of walking.

Departure from Piano Provenzana at an altitude of 1800 m.

Useful information
- Recommended clothing: Layered, thermal t-shirt, fleece, down jacket, windbreaker, (better if wearing a ski suit), gloves and hat.
- The time of the meeting point may vary, and be brought forward to 8: 45/9: 00 in order to guarantee you can find a place for your cars, given the mass of skiers arriving and the consequent difficulty in finding space for parking.
- Compulsory equipment: trekking or après-ski shoes.

- € 12 for rent of snowshoes and trekking poles
- We recommend that you go to the starting points of our excursions, equipped with thermal tires or chains ⛓ on board (if necessary), which are mandatory in the winter months to climb the volcano.
- In the event of adverse weather conditions, we will advise you in order to communicate the cancellation or postponement of your excursion, at the earliest possible date.
- There is no advance payment, you will pay our service directly on site to the mountain or volcanological guide who will be with you.

- Trekking does not require great physical preparation, it is easy and absent of particularly difficult passages, however attention is required since it is volcanic soil, often incoherent and unstable.
- This itinerary, in relation to the type, is suitable for people in a state of good physical health, who do not suffer from particular pathologies (cardio vascular, respiratory or hypertension).
- The activities are carried out in compliance with the current anti COVID-19 regulations, we invite participants to bring masks and personal sanitizers with them.
