Excursion Description:
Enjoy an unforgettable sunset excursion to the Summit Craters of Etna. Departure at 18:30 PM from the Mareneve Bar Kiosk in Piano Provenzana (1800 m). After meeting with the guide, we will ascend with 4×4 vehicles along the panoramic road on the north side of Etna up to an altitude of 2900 m.
We will continue on foot for about 3 km, with a positive elevation gain of 450 m, up to the summit of the volcano at 3300 m. Here, we will admire the Summit Craters and the spectacular sunset. The descent will follow the same path and traverse channels of volcanic ash and slag until we return to the 4×4 vehicle for the final descent to Piano Provenzana. Return is scheduled for 10:30 PM.

– 6:30 PM: Ascent with 4×4 vehicles along the panoramic road of North Etna up to 2900 m
– Trekking: 3 km uphill to the Summit Craters (altitude 3300 m)
– Sunset: Visit to the Craters and sunset viewing
– Descent: On volcanic terrain to the 4×4 vehicle
– Return: With 4×4 vehicles to Piano Provenzana (1800 m) expected around 10:30 PM
– Total duration: About 4.5 hours

Good to Know:
In case of adverse volcanic and/or weather conditions, the excursion may be canceled or postponed.
Payment is made directly to the guide on the day of the excursion.
In case of many requests, participants will be divided into smaller groups with different guides to avoid gatherings.
Warnings
– The trek is not recommended for those who do not engage in regular physical activity.
– The excursion requires good physical preparation, as it is at high altitude.
– Pay attention to the volcanic terrain, which is often inconsistent and unstable.
– The excursion may undergo changes at the discretion of the guides for safety reasons.
– Suitable for children over 13 years old.
– The path can cause dizziness in sensitive individuals.
– Not suitable for people with cardiovascular, respiratory, or hypertension problems.
– The use of contact lenses is not recommended due to gases and volcanic ash.
– Pregnant women beyond the third month cannot participate.
