Excursion to the Summit Craters at Sunset

Sunset Trekking

Enjoy the sunset spectacle from the top of Mount Etna. The meeting with the guide is scheduled at an altitude of 1800 meters. We will ascend with special 4x4 vehicles up to 2960 meters.

The excursion will continue on foot for about 3 km (450m of positive altitude gain) up to 3300 meters. Strongly not recommended for those who do not regularly engage in physical activity.

At the top, you will admire the Summit Craters and the colors of the sunset. Return is scheduled for 10:00 PM.

Detailed Schedule

• 16:45: Meeting at Piano Provenzana (1800m).
• 17:15: Ascent by 4x4 to an altitude of 2960m.
• 18:00: Start of the trek towards the Summit Craters (3300m).
• 19:00: Arrival at the summit, visit, and sunset.
• 20:00: Start of the descent on foot.
• 22:00: Expected return to Piano Provenzana.

• Physical Effort: Not recommended ⚠️ for those who are not physically active.
• Health: Not recommended ⛔️ for those with heart conditions, asthma, or hypertension.
• Safety: The itinerary may vary. Children over 13 are welcome.
• No Contact Lenses: Ash and gas can cause irritation.

In Case of Eruption

In the event of a visible eruption and under conditions of complete safety, the excursion will still be carried out.
