Excursion to the Summit of Etna
Aboard special 4x4 vehicles, we will travel the scenic road on the north side up to 2960m. From here, a 3km trek (330m ascent) on a path of volcanic scoria will begin, with breaks for explanations and refreshments.
Upon reaching the summit at 3300m, we will admire the uniqueness of the Central Crater and the breathtaking view. The descent will be partly on the same path and partly through channels of volcanic sand, before getting back on the 4x4 vehicles to return to Piano Provenzana.

Good evening Malena, thank you very much for your kind comment.
Regarding the possibility of starting the excursion in the afternoon, it is indeed possible. However, as guides we usually recommend a morning departure, because visibility is generally better and there is less chance of cloud formation. In the central hours of the day, clouds tend to build up over the mountains and can reduce visibility compared to the clearer conditions you typically find in the morning.
Of course, if reaching us early in the day is difficult for you, and if weather and safety conditions permit, we can also arrange the hike in the afternoon. We simply want to be transparent so you are aware that clouds are more likely later in the day.
As for equipment, there is no need to worry: our guides can provide anything you might be missing on site, including trekking shoes, extra socks, backpacks, trekking poles, helmets, and spare jackets if necessary.
Payment is made on site, and we do not require advance payment except for organized groups or private-guide excursions that must be reserved for a specific date.
To book, please contact us directly via WhatsApp +39 345 5741330 —either with a message or a call. Our office staff will add your names to the calendar for your chosen date and will send you full excursion details in the days before the trip. The day prior to your hike you will also receive the guide’s contact information, the meeting time, and the GPS location of the meeting point.
If you need any further information, we are completely at your disposal.
What if I stay in Catania and I don’t have a means of transport to come and go to the meeting point?
