What time do excursions to the top of Etna start?

Excursions to the summit of the volcano at an altitude of 3300 metres start (from April to November) at 7:45 AM to ensure greater visibility in the absence of clouds that often cover the summit craters, and in the summer period from June to September also at 1:00 PM.

There will also be excursions to the top of the volcano at sunset 🌅 especially when temperature conditions permit, the suitable period being from June to mid-September.

  • Before organising visits to the lava flows, we are obliged to observe the ongoing volcanic phenomenon, which, if assessed as safe, may allow the approach of tourists accompanied by our licensed guides.
  • Excursions may vary for safety reasons, depending on weather, volcanic conditions or force majeure.
